Please remember, all orthodontists are dentists. But, not all dentists are orthodontists.  It is of paramount importance to understand the difference in Dr. Kiefer’s education and experience.

An orthodontist is a dentist who trains in an accredited full time orthodontic educational program for years after dental school.  Dr. Kiefer earned a four-year Bachelor’s degree in science from Villanova University.  Then, Dr. Kiefer completed four years of dental school to earn her Doctorate Degree in Dental Medicine from Penn.  After dental school, Dr. Kiefer completed a one-year General Practice Residency program at Abington Memorial Hospital before practicing general dentistry for several years in private practice.  She studied orthodontics for three additional years in the orthodontic specialty residency program at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. The program only admits three dentists every other year. And she has been practicing orthodontics ONLY since 2005.

Dr. Kiefer is highly qualified AND educated by an ADA accredited specialty program in orthodontics to diagnose, treatment plan and treat malocclusions. Furthermore, she is Board Certified in the specialty of orthodontics, having had cases that she treated voluntarily reviewed by her peers to assess orthodontic knowledge and clinical skills.

And don’t forget to understand that not only did Dr. Kiefer complete these professional activities, she excelled at them graduating at the top of her class in each endeavor. Compounded with years of experience practicing as a general dentist and then exclusively orthodontics, Dr. Kiefer is very highly qualified to provide quality orthodontic care. Please realize this wonderful and exceptional difference.

Kiefer Family Orthodontics is an orthodontic specialty practice that focuses on quality orthodontic care of children and adults in an expert way. We can’t wait to show you!
